Amy Chua: Not a Tiger Mother, Just a Psycho-Bitch

January 25, 2011

I won’t be long about this ridiculous and disproven nonsense from elitist Amy Chua and her memoir “Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother”. I’ll be honest. I haven’t read it and I’m not going to read it. All I know is Amy is a bad mother because she doesn’t allow her children to develop naturally and encourage them in their own interests. What she does is force children to learn things they have no interest in just like a harsher, more draconian form of public education where children are not only forced to learn things they have no interest in but things which are also untrue and counterproductive to their intellectual growth. If I give Amy credit for anything it’s that she does support a regimented rearing of children, something which is sorely lacking in American parenting.

If I’ve said it once I’ll say it again Asian people are not smarter than other races. They live in a culture that places more value upon education, national identity and other useful ways of promoting social cohesiveness. Some of those are productive and some are counter-productive. Communists take the good with the bad. It is no wonder that Chinese dissidents want the hell out. If you don’t have a follow the leader mindset then living in China is probably pretty harsh by American standards, despite their burgeoning economic stature on the world stage. My point is that exporting this type of dictatorial philosophy from your country to your family is a horrific thing to do.

Just because you’re highly educated doesn’t mean you know a damn thing. Highly educated simply means highly indoctrinated. I’m sure Ms. Chua is a very busy woman. It seems fool-hearty to spend the little time you have with your children standing over them with a paddle and a frown while they attempt to play Chopin perfectly on the piano the first time. Children need to be exposed to a variety of things early in life so that they can choose for themselves and gravitate to not only things that they are good at but things that make them happy and also contribute to the well-being of society in general. I can’t imagine how playing Chopin perfect every time in Carnegie Hall would do that. If anything Chua’s children will grow up narcissistic, elitist assholes just like she is. These are the same people running the world right now……well running it into the ground. What a bitch………….
